Answer ALS is a non-profit research organization. It has been dedicated to developing and implementing a unified strategy to stop ALS.  They just were launching their new data portal that provides the world with free access to the most comprehensive clinical, genetic, molecular & biochemical assessment of ALS in history. It includes clinical data of more than 1,200 participants.

The objectives of this project were to spread awareness about the ALS data set and drive data downloads. It was a challenging task made more difficult by the pandemic and political environment.

We came up with an idea that did just that. One that spoke directly to our researchers and highlighted the truth about Answer ALS: THE DATA IS HERE. To get researchers to pay attention we needed to tell a story that our community cared about. January 8, 2021 would have been Stephen Hawking’s 79th birthday. We decided to launch by releasing a moving film in social on his birthday, celebrating his life’s accomplishments and positioning the data portal as gift in his honor with our powerful call to action: free access to the most comprehensive ALS research effort in history. We designed the data portal and supported the film with programmatic banners and paid social.
